Best Earbuds/MP3 Combo for Sports!

by on Monday, January 17th, 2011

At CES 2011 this year in Las Vegas, I had the pleasure of playing with Sony’s latest earbud/MP3 combo made for active lifestyle and sports, the Sony NWZ-W252.  This has been awhile now but Sony has updated the outstanding earbuds/MP3 combo for 2011.

Why is this the best earbuds for sports?

Simply put it, it combines an MP3 player and radio into one, single unit with the earbuds.   Right now, I use a Motorola S9 Bluetooth headset coupled with my Android smartphones or my iPod Touch.  Believe me, that’s a lot of gadgets to carry in my pocket just to listen to music while I work out.  The difference between the Motorola S9 and this Sony NWZ-W252 is that Sony has used a flexible material for your head, making it much more comfortable to wear for longer periods (in fact, you don’t even feel it), that is simple but revolutionary for someone like me who must listen to music while working out.

I think a lot of people forget that an MP3 player is supposed to do one thing, that of listening to music.  Sony NWZ-W252 is the most “comfortable” set of earbuds that also combine an MP3 player with long-lasting battery.  On a one minute charge, the Sony NWZ-W252 can play up to 3 hours of music and more if you charge it longer.  This works out really well when you want to go work out and forgot to charge your MP3 player, just stick it in your computer’s USB port while you put your socks on and it’s ready for you.

I can attest to this feature as I’ve owned a bunch of Sony MP3 players in the last few years, the battery on the Sony Walkman MP3s are the best in the world.
